ARVADA, Colo. – The Arvada Center recently received a generous donation of $50,000 from Arvada area builder, Advocate Homes. The donation supports the planned expansion of the Center, and moves the project into the next portion of the Schematic/Pre-Design phase. Completion of this entire phase is necessary in order to develop the drawings and models required to generate public interest and to build support for the capital campaign.

Since the Arvada Center opened in 1976, it has blossomed into not only a regional leader of cultural entertainment and education, but also a national model for professional multi-disciplinary arts facilities. An expansion in 1992 almost doubled the size of the original building, but continued growth of programming, events and attendees has put a significant strain on the Center’s infrastructure. Additional expansion is now needed to continue to effectively serve the community.

Approximately $1 million must be obtained to complete the Schematic/Pre-Design Phase of this project. The Arvada Center applauds Advocate Homes as a leader in providing one of the many significant corporate gifts needed from the community.

“A key component of meeting the financial goals that will allow the expansion project to move forward is community support,” states Arvada Center Executive Director Deborah Ellerman. “We need donations from forward-thinking businesses and organizations who recognize the value of an institution like the Arvada Center to a community. Advocate Homes has taken a pivotal early lead with exceptional commitment to the Center and its future.”
